Empowered schools

Empowered schools (also empowered districts and empowered teachers) are those who have formal autonomy to use an innovative governance and decision-making process that includes a larger group of stakeholders and that changes the traditional organizational hierarchy. The goal of empowered schools is to improve student learning by sharing power among educators and partnering with students and communities to best serve their schools. Also see Empower Schools.
